A Dream!!

This is the dream that the great Rabindranath Tagore had about an independent India. This is the dream that our freedom fighters had in their hearts when they sacrificed their lives for the country and this is the dream that they bequeathed to us on 15th August 1948, to cherish and to realize through our efforts!! Sixty-four years down the line, how far have we realized it??? Most of us, I am afraid, have been too busy fighting one another and plundering the nation’s resources to line our own pockets even to remember, let alone cherish, the dream that had been handed down to us by our elders. I thank Amir Khan for reminding us of this dream through the last episode of his serial ‘Sathyamev Jayathe’ http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-opinion/article3701274.ece. He is trying to do his bit to realize that dream … cans we too?????
