Life literally takes a turn when one least expects it; sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse; Looks like this girl's life has taken turn for the better. Wish her all the best!

A Dream!!

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high; Where knowledge is free; Where the world has not been broken up into fragments by narrow domestic walls; Where words come out from the depth of truth; Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection; Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit; Where the mind is led forward by thee into ever-widening thought and action — Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake. Jaihind. Satyamev Jayate. Rabindranath Tagore
This is the dream that the great Rabindranath Tagore had about an independent India. This is the dream that our freedom fighters had in their hearts when they sacrificed their lives for the country and this is the dream that they bequeathed to us on 15th August 1948, to cherish and to realize through our efforts!! Sixty-four years down the line, how far have we realized it??? Most of us, I am afraid, have been too busy fighting one another and plundering the nation’s resources to line our own pockets even to remember, let alone cherish, the dream that had been handed down to us by our elders. I thank Amir Khan for reminding us of this dream through the last episode of his serial ‘Sathyamev Jayathe’ http://www.thehindu.com/todays-paper/tp-opinion/article3701274.ece. He is trying to do his bit to realize that dream … cans we too?????

Past, Present or Future - Which is Real?!

We refer to the 'PRESENT' as a time slot that is real and existing.

I think that is somewhat misleading because the 'Present' is just a door through which the 'FUTURE' passes through to the 'PAST'. It is just a transitory stage during which that which is 'to be' becomes that which 'had been'.

What then is 'REALITY'? We normally consider the 'present' as real, the future and past being treated as something 'unreal'. If the 'present' is momentary, so's 'reality'; something that manifests itself for a fleeting moment and disappears into the 'past'.

Perhaps, 'FUTURE' is the reality that manifests itself to us for a moment before passing into the 'past'!!

A 'period' or a 'time slot' should have a 'finite duration' as well as a 'beginning and an end'. The future and the past have neither a beginning nor an end while the present is momentary and lacks a finite duration. May be, the whole concept of 'Past, Present & Future' as well as of 'Time & Reality' are just creations of the fertile human mind!!
